”Health Decisions has found this solution to be four times as accurate as the web-based data entry option, leading to fewer post-entry corrections and less possibility of future audit challenges.”
Clinical trials require the collection and analysis of large amounts of patient data from a number of trial centres. Many clinical trials management systems currently rely on double key data entry, in which data is entered into computers from medical records by two different people, and then verified by a third. This is time-consuming and not very accurate. Other methods are web-based data entry, using validation tools which is less expensive but less accurate and Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) that has great degree of accuracy but on the hand time-consuming. With the Anoto digital pen and paper technology, Health Decisions, found a solution developed by Mi-Co, that has all the benefits of optical mark recognition, but with the added advantage that data can be transferred instantaneously to the database.
Benefits:
- Faster incorporation of data
- Greater data accuracy
- Ease of use
- Possibility to combine with technology such as Optical Mark Recognition (OMR)
